What Is The KISS Principle? KISS Principle Explained

What Is The KISS Principle? KISS Principle Explained

What Can You Do To Improve Your Personality?

There are a lot of people who can help you learn more about yourself. Quite a few resources are available to provide guidance in analysis and insights of your personality.

Keep a gratitude journal. This is a great way for you to realize that your life isn't as bad as you think it is. Come up with 10 things every day to feel thankful about and write them down. After a while, you won't have to think so hard because you'll begin to develop an "attitude of gratitude" that makes you appreciate your life.

Guessing how people percieve you or what they think about you might cost an opportunity for a great friendship. No one can read another person's mind or heart, so try not to constantly worry about what other people think. Be yourself and be honest, and let time produce the truest of friends.

Ask for feedback sincerely and frequently when it comes to personal development. In the office, develop a support structure of people you know and respect to give you periodic feedback on how you are doing with your development plan. At home, ask your family sincerely to help you achieve your goals. Be sure to accept any feedback as a gift, even if it is difficult to hear.

Write up a motivational speech for yourself. Write down all of your positive traits on a postcard. You can take this with you wherever you go, and review it when you want motivation. Better yet, videotape yourself reading it aloud and view the video frequently. Why should you do this?

A key to personal development is setting priorities and developing a game plan. Setting priorities enables you to focus on what is important and eliminates wasted time on things that are not essential to reaching your goals. Having a game plan will reduce stress and help make big goals more manageable.

Ask your friends and family for honest, positive feedback on your character. Earnestly requesting feedback is much different from simply fishing for compliments. Explain that you need help discovering things about yourself that make you a good friend, or what you could work on to become a more reliable and supportive friend.

Measure your progress daily or even hourly. Whether you are cleaning up that junk room or studying for a final examination, use some method to keep track of how much you have progressed towards your goal. You might just check individual tasks off a list. You might take digital photos of your progress and regularly mail them to a friend!

Work just a little harder just a little longer. By just investing a little bit of extra effort we can achieve our goals more quickly and assuredly. Once one goal is achieved the slate is cleaned so that we can tackle the next one. We often get back from life precisely what we put in. Hard work spells bigger rewards.

Getting to know yourself better than anyone else is a privilege and an honor. Always treat yourself well and never lie to yourself. Learn to enjoy your own company.
